CHALLENGE: Global automobile parts manufacturer was losing marketing ground against more efficient operations, resulting in shrinking sales and profits.
SERVICES/SOLUTION: Worked with Lean/Six Sigma team to analyze the current state, identifying low-investment high-impact areas to establish Lean disciplines. Generated multiple business cases for multiple worldwide locations, trained staff and led kaizen events for immediate small financial gains and to create a longer-term Lean environment.
RESULTS: The company saw immediate positive impact in its stock price for about 10 years. The stock value then declined in the past 5 years, in the recession and as lean operations improved throughout the industry, but is currently increasing.
